A few months after the start of fuel production from MSW in Martinsburg, a large group of local officials visited the plant built by Entsorga West Virginia in a joint venture with Apple Valley Waste Technologies, Inc., Entsorga Italia and Chemtex Global.
Thanks to this plant, the first in the United States to use Entsorga technologies, 80% of the Berkeley County waste will turn into renewable fuel for cement production. An important milestone for the County, which ends a long research process to find a cleaner, safer and more sustainable alternative to landfill, started 15 years ago, and which for the Entsorga Group marks the official entry on the East Coast green economy market.
